One time, I was in a sunglasses store. My fingernails were chipped. 

The owner, about 50, said,

 “How are you going to attract guys with fingernails like that?” 

Then laughed.

But ultimately..ever since that occurrence, 

I can’t stand chipped fingernails. I have to have them painted.
