prayers

cancer is everywhere.
it really is consuming my world right now.

mr. schroeder's older brother passed away from cancer.
his mother also just had cancer...and beat it!
a woman i look up to just got diagnosed with breast cancer.
and my best friend's father passed from cancer.

it is everywhere.
terrible.
heart-wrenching.

i found a video of a girl from my high school.
she is staggering.
 in every single way.

grab a box of tissues,
watch,
and please keep her {and all cancer victims} in your prayers.

  1. I love what she says at the end, "I get this fight." What an awesome attitude. My older brother was diagnosed with cancer when he was 17, in his senior year at Alta. It was awful, but he's doing well now. I went to a funeral two days ago for a sweet 19 year old girl who has been fighting leukemia since she was 5. Yes, Cancer is awful, but I also know some of the greatest moments of love and triumph have come to my family because of it. Keep fighting Lexe!

  2. Cancer is very scary. Cancer is very real. My dad passed away when I was 13 from cancer after having it for over seven years. So most of my life he had cancer. The struggle of the people that have it and the struggle of those surrounded by those who have it is so hard. Thank you for bringing this topic up to the surface.

  4. Oh darling, this video is so touching in so many ways. I'm in this fight too.
I know of two work colleagues who are fighting Leukemia and breast cancer. My mother fought breast cancer and won. But then there are so many others who fought hard, but cancer took them away. It is sad to know that there is not one person who does not know of someone who has had to fight cancer or has been affected by this horrible disease.
Sending prayers to you and to everyone else...

We must all stand together and fight the good fight

  6. What an amazing story! She is so courageous.. I could only hope to be half as strong as her if I was in the same situation. I will be praying for her. My mom works as head nurse at an oncology center... There is so much cancer in the world, it's so sad.

  7. This was an amazing story you shared. And it's not fun to hear you have something like that or even to watch the people in your life have that. It's great that there is a chance to beat it, that you have that opportunity. I am sorry to hear that there has been a lot of it around in your life because it sucks. It also is inspiring when it gets beaten.

  9. I saw the news story about her, such an inspiration! My father in law is still recovering from cancer and you are right, even after you've beat it the scars are still there

  10. You are right cancer just plain sucks! It is everywhere. I so wish there was a cure for it. This summer one of my really good friends from back home one of her twin sons (they are 3) was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor. They can not operate on it. They are only giving him two years at most. :( Just sucks
