well, i'm sorry i probably don't like that.

i love this quote. except, if i were to alter it a little bit, i would omit the pretending part. because maybe everybody else really does love some stuff that you just...don't. there's been a few things that made me think, "do i not fit in because i don't like that?"

for an example:

twilight. i'm sorry. but i absolutely HATE twilight. i just don't get it. when everyone in the movie theater was all serious, i was cracking up. i guess i just don't get the weird eery fantasy-type stuff. i'm more of a realistic person, i suppose. even with movies.

nordstrom rack. i can never find anything there. i don't know why everyone swears on it. because i actually hate it.

i am the way i am just because that's me. and i can't pretend to like something i simply don't.
end rant.

  4. I feel the same way about both those things. And I also don't see the hoopla over reality tv. I never have. I prefer to be weird than bored pretending to be entertained. :)

  6. So I liked the twilight books, they made for an entertaining read and then the movies came out and boy oh boy, they made for some great comedy!! Way too much cheese in one movie for me to take seriously. Nordstrom rack...bah. My cousins and sister go there find everything cute, I go there and think "when did I enter the 1990's?!"

  7. I feel the same way! I never want to pretend to be something that I'm not. That's what makes us all unique. By the way, I hate Twilight too!

    everyones opinion is there own.
i feel like i've been pretty good at avoiding liking things only because other people do.

  10. I used to like Twilight, ok, I don't mind the books, but the movies are a little funny.
And I have never been to Nordstrom rack, weird right? But EVERYONE talks about it all the time.
Right now, I'm not a fan of chevron prints like everyone seems to be obsessed with ,that's the first one that I thought of off the top of my head! But I really love that quote!

  11. nordstrom rack has some pretty great shoes most of the time. and i really liked the twilight books, but i didn't even watch the movies. too cheesy for me.

i feel the same way with running. everyone tells me i'll love it once i start doing it. nope. i don't. it drives me SOOOO crazy how it's such a trend though and everyone and their dog does it.

  12. I hate Nordstrom rack too. The people there were snotty and couldn't find a single thing. Lame.

  14. I hate twilight too which is honestly odd because I don't have a proclivity to hate movies like that. I usually like them. I just could not stand it.

  15. Same and same... Except during my time in Thailand I picked up on Twilight with my team and we had a really good time making fun of it, but while watching the last one I realized I was crying at the end. So I think it's strange, but I guess I somehow ended up liking it?! Maybe I was delirious from being out of the real world for so long!

  16. I like your change to the quote. I do think most people really do like what they go on and on about. ;) And honestly we are all different. And we should all be fine with that. I actually find it quite interesting how different people are in what they like and what they don't.

  17. I literally just had this conversation with my husband last night. I ALWAYS feel different, especially when it comes to humor. I have a very dry sense of humor, and I often don't find typical jokes funny. I always feel like a serious Sally, and I'm afraid people won't think I'm fun. I love this quote though. We can't force ourselves to enjoy something to just fit in. Just be real and just be yourself!

  18. I loved Twilight when they first came out and I read them when I was younger. But when I went back and read them again I was like, "Oh my GOSH! Edward is seriously manipulative! And Bella has the emotional maturity of a 9 year old." Needless to say, I don't love them anymore. And the movies were just terrible.

  20. emma watson is like my favorite person ever. I mean Harry Potter was awesome when it was just a book, but now one of my favorite actresses was MADE by it. Yeah. I just might be a total nerd.
