the drive thru difference

i just deleted a blog post i spent a lot of time on.
but i got an idea out of it.
an idea that i really want to get out there.
a pay it forward campaign.
that was what my previous blog was called.
i have had a rough past couple of days.
so i thought of serving people. because that always helps.
has anyone ever gone out of their way
to do something extremely nice for you?
i want to hear about it.
something that changed your outlook on life for just a split second?
a moment where you thought,
"the world needs more people like him/her."

here is what  i am about to do.
drive thru chick fil a
and pay for the people behind me.
tell the employee to give this note to them:

here is a song i am obsessing over:

  1. Reading this gave me the chills. What a wonderful idea! And on a totally random sidenote - enjoy a milkshake for me while you're there =) I've been craving chik fil a so bad for the last week. Sad story for me, the closest one is an hour away.

  2. you are simply amazing my dear. a while back i was with some friends going to mcd's late at night and as we were driving in the parking lot a homeless guy was on the corner. as we all ordered our food in the drive thru my guy friend ordered an extra meal (we just thought he was really hungry!) and on our way out of the parking lot he told us to stop for a minute he took out the extra meal and and handed it to the homeless man. it really impacted me and i think about it each time i pass that mcd's... i def needed to hear this story today and be reminded to pay it fwd :) xoxo

  5. I have never had a stranger do anything for me; but I have on multiple occasions paid for someone else's meal at a drive thru. Ive thought about doing it at a sit down restaurant too but haven't had the guts yet to try to pull it off without someone knowing.

  6. This is such an awesome and wonderful idea! A story of mine would be one that happened recently. A stranger who didn't even have to give me the time of day took it upon himself to help me with jumping a dead battery in the car I was driving so that I could make it to the auto shop to get the battery switched before it was time to close.
And when I got there, even though it was pitch black outside and it would be after she clocked out for the night, an employee of the store was so kind to take time out of her night to change the battery since I informed her I didn't know how.
I think there is such goodness in people, it makes me smile incessantly. Just like your act of kindness did :)

  7. That's so wonderful to hear! When I worked at Chick-fil-A in the drive thru, people would pay for the person behind them. Most of the time they end up paying for the next person, and so on. It would always make us so excited to see the kindness and generosity that people could show! Kind gestures like that can make a bigger difference than you realize! :)

  11. As a CFA employee, things like this always make us smile...especially when it starts a chain reaction. You are a beautiful person for doing this. Remember that....no matter how tough life gets.

  14. bah! Why are you so darn amazing!?! this is seriously the single most greatest thing ever! A story of when someone helped me...
When I lived in Ephraim, going to Snow College, my roommate and I realized we really needed some food, especially since we didn't have anything to make our dinner that night. We had two roommates with cars, and both of them were gone. And for some reason we were ashamed to ask our neighbors for a ride to the store. So figuring it wouldn't be that far of a walk we walked over a mile to the grocery store and purchased our groceries. The walk down was more than easy, but we foolishly bought TEN bags worth of groceries so that walk back was horrendous. We were probably half a mile away from our apartment when one of my bags split open and my yogurt spilled out! It was at that point we realized a guy was watching us. He came over and asked if we wanted a ride home. Without even thinking anything of it we quickly agreed, and put our groceries in the back of his truck, then hopped in. At that point, we realized we had just gotten in the car with a stranger, and were slightly worried, then his little boy pulled out a Book of Mormon and read it to us, that was quite comforting. So the guy drove us to our apartment and helped us take our groceries inside to our apartment. We decided to do something in return for him and made his family brownies, and walked the half a mile back to deliver them.

  15. I LOVE your handwriting.

    Sorry, SO not important.

This is really great of you. I JUST got back from Chic fil a, and maybe I should have done this. It's a really way to share God's love and provisions. I hope that whatever you're going through only makes you stronger and stronger.
